J1ビザで今ハワイに滞在してます。J1が3月に切れる予定で、ハワイの車の免許

J1ビザで今ハワイに滞在してます。J1が3月に切れる予定で、ハワイの車の免許書が1月に切れます。
今、グリンカード 申請中ですが3月にグリンカード は100%来ないのです。グリンカード 申請中に車の免許の更新って可能でしょうか？誰かご存知の方いれば教えて下さい。
